Energy Commodities are the those commodities that are consumed to generate energy for the powering of various apparatuses directly, or for the generation of some other type of energy (electrical, for example). The most commonly known and discussed energy commodity is crude oil, though this term may refer to any of several very specific types of petroleum. Natural gas is a large traded energy commodity.
